” He says Hi in the hallways”

” He says Hi in the hallways”

Weeks ago, while I was walking, I saw a teenager waiting for the school bus. I greeted him with a smile, and he smiled back. Every time I passed him during my morning routine, I did the same. Today was particularly interesting, as his reaction reminded me of one of the students I work with at school. He said, “Thank you for saying hi to me; it makes me feel really good.”

Greeting kids can have a significant positive impact. It fosters a sense of belonging and helps build confidence. When children feel acknowledged, it can enhance their mood and encourage them to engage more with others.

About the photo: Every year at school, the teacher gives students a form titled “Thank You for Making a Difference,” which they fill out. One student wrote my name because I said hi to him.
